Malcolm, Lord Forbes, reports that he and Jinny, Lady Forbes, contribute the proceeds made from visitors to the charity Children with Cancer UK. Their involvement with the charity stems from Jinny’s membership of the board which stages two nights of operatic performances and charity auction each year in the conservatory at Syon House, the Duke of Northumberland’s residence on the outskirts of London. This is one of the charity’s main fund-raisers.
Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. Almost 4,500 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. The charity aims to determine the causes, find cures and provide care for children with cancer.
The charity celebrated its 28th year of Opera at Syon on the 12th and 13th of June, 2019. Guests enjoyed dinner and performances by Diva Opera of L’italiana in Algeri and Madama Butterfly in the Great Conservatory at Syon Park. For the charity auction, Lord and Lady Forbes contributed a weeks fishing on the River Don, including bed and breakfast for two at Castle Forbes.
